Wood-framed panels with woven cane inserts

This project from the workshop archive combines a wooden framework with a grid of woven cane panels. The two views show the repeated rectangular sections and the contrast between the darker frame and lighter woven inserts.

Details visible in this project

Repeated panel sizes create a consistent rhythm across the assembly. When planning cane-panel woodwork, the opening dimensions, frame proportions and surrounding finishes all affect the result. The photographs document the appearance; the fixing and operating details should be agreed for each new installation.
